Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt joined LibDem councillors Ken Rushen and Glenis Slater with local traders in a champagne toast this Monday to celebrate their success in securing extra car parking for Hobs Moat shoppers.
Their successful campaign for the extra thirty spaces, including a petition of nearly 3000 names to Solihull Council, followed decisions to ban shoppers from the Ice Rink and Hobs Meadow pub car parks, causing a 35% drop in trade for local retailers.
Now the £133,000 project is nearing completion newsagent Paul Sura said he was "delighted" with the outcome and thanked Councillor Ken Rushen and Lorely Burt MP for helping to win their case with Solihull Council.
"We can look forward to a brighter future with shoppers once again being able to park, " said Paul Sura.
