Meet Adrian Brown, candidate for Shropshire Council, in Shawbury.

Adrian has lived in Shawbury since 2004, having previously lived in Oswestry and Chester. He lives with his partner Julie and has three daughters, two work in the NHS in Chester and the other at the Whitworth Museum in Manchester.

Adrian has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors, working for Cheshire and Shrewsbury & Atcham Councils, and then for consultants working on the Shropshire contract. He is a well respected Traffic Engineer and has designed and developed a host of projects (safer routes to school, cycle routes, accident reduction schemes, measures to assist pedestrian movement, 20mph Zones, pedestrianisation schemes, traffic orders [including parking restrictions, speed limits], etc). This knowledge has been used to the benefit of Shawbury Parish Council, which he has served as a local councillor for most of the time he has lived in the village.

Adrian has been heavily involved in local projects such as the Moat Project and the Parish Plan in Shawbury.  He is a community-minded individual and will, as your Councillor, support and 'muck-in' with local initiatives, and will seek to advise on and develop new ideas to enhance the community.

Adrian believes in transparent and engaged local government.

We really can't afford another Tory administration in Shropshire.   Local Authorities with Liberal Democrats at the helm have a proven track record in delivering services, financial management, competence, transparency and openness.”.

He wants to see a Shropshire Council that works for Shawbury.

Adrian is passionate about protecting and promoting the environment.

The environmental crises we face need urgent action, but that action brings opportunity”.

He is committed to working towards a future for a sustainable future for Shropshire, where we can be healthy, happy and prosperous.

Adrian appreciates that 2020/21 has been very difficult, so coming out of the COVID pandemic, we need to make a fresh start with new and positive ideas.

Now is the time to make a change - the Liberal Democrats will work hard for you, be there 24/7.  We believe in localism.  We believe in YOU!
